I had a great weekend! My step mom, who is more like a mother to me, and her husband came down on Saturday for our family Christmas. It was wonderful! I spent the first part of Saturday in my bed so we all camped out in my room and then when we were ready to eat, Roger got me up in my wheelchair and we actually ate our Christmas dinner at the table! You have no idea but that is a big deal. LOL The only issue was the fact that my Wheel-Chariot, even at its lowest position is still a bit high for the table. But thankfully I had my little tray so I got as close as I could to the table and used my tray for my food. She makes thee best mac & cheese ever and the best salad dressing. I was in heaven! It felt very nice to feel normal, whatever that is, for that day. 🖤 Last year my daughter hung a string of lights around the walls of my bedroom and they brought me a beautiful lighted Christmas wreath. My room looks so pretty at night now! Festive and fun.
I also got an amazing “train case“ for my make up. I subscribe to Boxy Charm, so I get a surprise box every month of make up and other fun things. It may seem frivolous or even stupid for me to do this because of the fact that I’m stuck in my bed, but for me it’s just fun and gives me something to do other than watching television. Although, the television is still on in the background. LOL Basically, it keeps me off the streets! 😂🤣
I hope everyone has a very safe and Happy All Hallows’ Eve!!
As for me, my back is killing me so I am going to sit in the dark in my room and watch scary movies. One of my favorite things to do. 👻
I’m a little bummed that I’m not able to put on make up or do anything this Halloween, but there will be others. Thankfully Snapchat has given me a few ways to do some make up. LMAO
Did I mention I love Halloween!
Be safe tonight and be mindful of others around you. And if teenagers show up at your door, give them candy! It’s much better that they’re doing something safe and fun then being out doing something not so safe and possibly getting into trouble. Childhood leaves us much too soon so let them be children for as long as possible. 🖤
And, if you have a black kitty keep them inside tonight. Humans can be very evil and black cats are targeted on Halloween. I think we all know that humans are the only monsters in this world.
Last but not least, an update on my MRI… They are working to get it done via outpatient so that I can be sedated to help with my pain during the MRI. I decided there’s no reason for me to be in that much pain to get a test so they need to work and help me. We have to be our own advocate and we need to speak up if something is not right for us. So that’s what I did!
To all who celebrate, please be safe today/tonight. Make sure to have a designated driver if you plan on drinking. It’s a fun day to celebrate, but I’m sure you and your loved ones want to make it home safe. I know that everyone else does as well.
Have a fun and safe Evening! Keep your furbabies safe and away from opening doors.
Last night was the pumpkin carving party at Don’s house. Here are the wonderful pumpkins that were carved. It was a fun time for all.
I started out dressing like a Vampire, but the wig cap/wig gave me a headache. My fitted Vampire teeth were a pain in the mouth! lol
So, ended up as a Witch. The lace on my hat is over 90 years old. It was my Nana’s. There is also a black rose with it. This is my favorite Witch hat. Yes, I have more than one. 😛
My fabulous make-up was done by Steph. She made me look damn good for a 51 year old. lol
Even with the pain, I had so much fun! I have let fear, being self-conscious, and embarrassment from my illness stop me from doing so many things. I know there will be times when my condition will keep from doing certain things. It makes me sad to not be able to be ‘normal’. One thing is for sure; I am blessed with a support team that always has my back. They never give up on me, even when I give up on myself. I am one of the lucky ones!
